How do LED video walls work?
Ledwalls or led walls are big screens made up of light emitting diodes (LED) that display audio-visual content. It's basically a massive luminous wall made from numerous LED wall panels.
Our LED panels feature SMD technology which places three small diodes (the usual red, green, and blue RGB) inside a single square capsule and welded on top of the printed circuit board. This "all in one" solution ensures a shorter distance between individual pixels, with the added benefit of obtaining high resolutions, which means more defined pictures at a shorter viewing distance.
When installed correctly, the video wall is seamless and does not show any creases between panels. The higher the pixel definition, the higher the resolution. But you might be asking: what is pixel definition ?
What is pixel definition in regards to LED walls & panels?
Pixel Pitch is the measurement of the space in millimeters between each individual LED. The graphic resolution and the distance from which the LED wall is clearly visible are crucial elements for the selection of a particular LED wall and its location.
To put it simply, a pitch of 10 mm or more can work just well if you wish to install a sizable LED screen, measuring tens of square meters, on the top of a building to display normal advertising messages.
On the other hand, if you want to install a small, indoor LED screen to show live or previously recorded video with resolutions up to and above 4K, then a very thin pitch, between 1.2 and 1.9 mm or lower would be optimal.
